Marriage Counseling and Couples Counseling
Much of the work of couple’s counseling can now be accomplished more efficiently through passive LENS neurofeedback sessions.
What if your partner COULD just stop being annoying?
Marriage counseling therapists used to say “Quit blaming them and work on changing yourself”.
A new discovery in brain plasticity and treatment, LENS neurofeedback, has changed that. With this new tool, therapists CAN stop your partner’s annoying behaviors!
And in most cases, it’s not even essential for them to “do counseling” or talk about their issues.
Does LENS work without counseling?
Yes. Couples still grow through reflection and insight into their patterns, and still benefit from better communication. We have found, however, that individuals usually know what they need to change to make their lives work. With LENS treatment, they simply make those changes, once their old defenses have been dislodged and their brain is functioning optimally.
Digging out the roots of their anxiety, depression or other defensive habits used to take years. With the Low Energy Neurofeedback System it can happen in weeks. And you know the old saying: “When my partner is happy, I’m happy.”
Will it help our sex life?
Individuals may come to us hoping LENS will address their migraines, sleep problems, moods, or ADD, but nearly all of our clients also report that their relationships have improved dramatically. They describe an easy-going attitude around situations that used to cause fights or ill-will. They report that when the usual background of anxiety, anger or impatience is gone, both partners are more available for intimacy and sex. And almost all of them say they can focus and connect more easily after LENS treatment.
Do we need to come in at the same time?
Couples need not schedule their LENS appointments together. LENS can be done with or without concurrent counseling to aid integration. If you are already seeing a marriage counselor, we recommend staying with them to help integrate the accelerated positive changes brought about by LENS treatment.
